Golden Rooibos Blend

My take on Turmeric Latte or Golden Milk. I love the ancient Ayurvedic remedy, Golden Milk, and often recommend it to my clients. However it can be a bit of a faff to make from scratch and being a lark I am often too sleepy at night to be bothered so I decided to make this blend and I laced it with a plethora of wonderful herbs and spices and mixed with Rooibos.

Rooibos – the relaxing red bush tea from Africa

Turmeric – the wonderful anti-inflammatoryspice

Ashwagandha – a herb which is traditionally reputed to be  an adaptogenic herb, strengthening to the immune system and helping people to become more resilient to stress

Ginger – the pungent and anti-inflammatory root traditionally reputed to be calming to the gut

Cloves – the analgesic spice

Cardamom – the warming aromatic digestive believed to relieve bloating and trapped wind

Black Pepper – often recommended to help absorb turmeric

Orange Peel – traditionally believed to be antioxidant and uplifting

Saffron – the luxurious yellow spice thought to be antidepressant

Add a dessertspoon of this blend to a mug of milk and heat gently and slowly allowing the spices to infuse into the milk.

Then whisk and strain.

The perfect bedtime drink.
