One of South America’s most treasured drinks, Yerba Mate (Ilex paraguariensis) has been enjoyed for centuries by the indigenous Guaraní people before becoming a national favourite across Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and southern Brazil.

Here’s a botanical surprise… yerba mate isn’t actually related to tea at all! Although it brews much like a green tea and naturally contains caffeine, it comes from a species of holly tree, making it a fascinating example of how unrelated plants can evolve remarkably similar properties.

Our Organic Green Yerba Mate is made from carefully dried, unroasted leaves, producing a fresh, grassy infusion with earthy, slightly bittersweet notes and a wonderfully satisfying finish.
